Bongo Fury is made up of mostly live recordings from the Armadillo Headquarters in Austin, TX, along with a few studio recordings from The Record Plant in Los Angeles. The album is a memorable addition to the Zappa Catalog and the last to feature the band name “Mothers” before it was retired in 1976. The 50th Anniversary Exclusive Vinyl Edition features all analog mastering of the classic album by Bernie Grundman on 180g orange & black galaxy vinyl from the original master tapes plus a frame-able lithograph print of the band.
